Recap

Stars secure their second successive win in the space of a week after defeating Jubilee FC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Jasper Toe Jr and Emmanuel Sumo were the scorers as Philadelphia Lone Star FC-Liberia beat Jubilee FC 2-1 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Coach Julius Nah made only one change to the Starting XI, bringing on Cyrus Jackson for Vincent Blayon who missed out on the matchday roster.

The Stars started brightly with Jasper Toe Jr opening the scoring just four minutes into the match. After controlling the match from kickoff, the Stars extended their lead in the 41st minute after a defense-splitting pass from John Kai to Emmanuel Sumo saw the striker one-on-one with the Jubilee goalkeeper who parried the initial strike only for Sumo to head the ball in the net.

Like last week, the Stars took their feet off the pedal and the Church Boys were able to capitalize on that by reducing the scoreline to 2-1 in the 52nd minute.

The next 38 minutes were back-and-forth between the two sides, but the Stars were able to hold on to win 2-1.

Next up is a trip to the North Star Sports Stadium in Mt. Barclay on Saturday 23 September to battle Nimba United FC.
