Emmanuel Sumo’s third goal in three league games helps the Stars climb to the top of the Division 2 table.

Emmanuel Sumo was the goal-scoring hero again as Philadelphia Lone Star FC-Liberia earned a hard-fought three points in their 1-0 win at Nimba United.

The only goal of the game came in the 85th minute after Sekou Sheriff did well to pick up Sumo who remained composed as he place the ball beyond the Nimba United goalkeeper.

The Mountaineers put the Stars under constant pressure throughout the game, but the Stars dug in deep to secure a third successive win and a clean sheet to maintain their perfect start to their inaugural season in Division 2.

Next for the Stars is a home game against Gardnersville FC on Thursday 28 September at 1:00pm at the SKD Practice Pitch in Paynesville.
